Christian Benteke admits he could have made more or his limited opportunities at Liverpool but felt he was ‘fighting a losing battle’ from the moment Jurgen Klopp arrived.
Benteke was not searching for sympathy and refused to criticise Klopp as he discussed his £32million transfer to Crystal Palace while on international duty.
The Belgium striker had plenty of lucrative offers to move elsewhere but Palace boss Alan Pardew convinced him a transfer to Selhurst Park would produce the regular football he craved to get his career back on track.
